Gossip Girl’s 100th Episode Celebration

When Gossip Girl first aired in 2007, ladies all over the world knew their lives will never be the same again. No other TV series has revolutionized the fashion industry since Sex and the City. Carrie could only wish she were that glamorous when she was Blair and Serena’s age. Style connoisseurs themselves admit to drawing inspiration from the characters’ impeccable fashion sense. For one, there’s Anna Sui who made a clothing line inspired by the award-winning series.

Now that they are on its fifth season, it is no surprise that the cast of Gossip Girl has already been identified with iconic fashion statements, such as Blair’s headbands. Remember when hair accessories had suddenly become all the rage? You can credit that to the Queen Bee of Constance Billard School.

For all its good (and even bad) influences, Gossip Girl truly deserves a posh blow-out! And what better time to celebrate than on its 100th episode? Last November 19, the entire cast and special guests of Gossip Girl partied at Cipriani Wall in no other than New York City for the series’ milestone. The 100th episode revolves around Blair and Prince Louis’ royal wedding and the complications along with it.

As expected, it was a night of sheer glamour. The lead stars arrived in praiseworthy, envy-inducing ensembles, as if they were still in character. It goes to show how truly dedicated they were to their roles.

Here is a demonstration by the ladies of Gossip Girl:

Leighton Meester in Jimmy Choo

Leighton Meester apparently wanted to stand out in a sea of lavishness and chose a rather simple outfit. But simple doesn’t necessarily mean boring. Even with minimal accessories (a pair of earrings) and her mane let down, the 25 year old actress was still stunning as ever in her white strapless dress from the Balmain Spring 2012 collection.

But she pretty much compensates the lack of accessories with sparkly heels from Jimmy Choo. Meester wore the Lauren sandals whose straps are entirely decked with jewels. These shoes are part of Choo’s Icons collection which is composed of reinventions of the designer’s classic pieces.

Michelle Trachtenberg in Fendi

If you have been closely following the series, it may feel a bit revolting to see Michelle Trachtenberg at the party as the actress’ role in has only been to wreak havoc in the Upper East Side. But like it or not, Georgina Sparks is the villain everybody loved to hate. The Buffy alumna arrived in a jumpsuit and piled on a lot of accessories.

She completed her look with shoes from Fendi. The actress proudly shared that she did her own make-up. Although she emphasized that she was “going for a vintage feel”, her overall attire seemed more like vintage with an attitude.

Kaylee DeFer in Yves Saint laurent

To appear in a Gossip Girl episode is just lucky; to appear in a few episodes is a real blessing; but to be the main cast is a lifetime achievement…and Kaylee DeFer just received one. Her role, Charlie Rhodes, has just been promoted to a mainstay character so you’ll be seeing more of this blonde bombshell. And just to prove that she earned her spot, DeFer put on a sexy black dress that showed off an hour-glass silhouette.

Equally eye-catching were her leopard heels from Yves Saint Laurent which she reportedly bought a couple of weeks before the event. Perhaps it goes without saying that she had the same anticipation for the affair as everyone else.

Chloe Moretz in Stella McCartney

No, she will not be in any GG episodes (at least, not yet); she just came to Cipriani Wall to show her support for newfound friend Blake Lively. Both starred in a film entitled Hick. The 14 year old actress has been making noise not only in the entertainment industry but in the fashion arena as well.

Her style evolution from dainty girly dresses to high fashion apparel has motivated style authorities keep tabs on her. During the 100th episode celebration, Moretz wore Stella McCartney from top to toe. She wore the two-toned Morgana pumps. These maryjanes feature a seamless black-nude combination in faux patent leather.

Kelly Rutherford in Christian Louboutin

Try to remember how many times in a hundred episodes have you ever looked at Kelly Rutherford and muttered, “I can’t believe she’s 40-ish.” With her effortless sophistication and elegance, the 43 year old actress is truly “age-defying”. Rutherford wasn’t one to be outdone by the 20-ish and posed on the red carpet in a metallic silver dress with feather accent.

To finish off her outfit, she wore a timeless piece of Christian Louboutin: the Ron Ron. These round-toe pumps are covered in fine suede with tolerable 100 mm inch heels.

Nan Zhang in Guiseppe Zanotti

What is a Queen Bee without her trusty sidekicks? Blair wouldn’t be half as empowered as she was without her lovely entourage. But Kati Farkas, along with her fellow minions, drew a lot of inspiration from their leader, especially in fashion. Nan Zhang can very well attest to that.

Like her fashionista character, she arrived at the Gossip Girl party clad in red, from top to toe. Zhang’s shoes were the velvet peep-toe pumps from Guiseppe Zanotti. The slingbacks feature double platform and velvet covering.
