Kristen Stewart and her Vampy Kicks

Billions of Twilight fans or ‘Twihards’ must have waited for dawn to break as they finally get to see their favorite fanged, furry and beautiful characters on the big screen once again. Breaking Dawn has recently been opened in theaters all over the globe and will most likely break box-office records, considering the midnight premiere screening alone garnered a whopping $30 million!

The second to the last installment of the Twilight franchise has been met with such anticipation as early as when the final credits of Eclipse rolled. Undoubtedly, Stephenie Meyer’s brainchild has been nothing less than phenomenal. Edward, Bella & Jacob’s story has put the ‘love triangle’ plot to a whole new level. After all, the heroine isn’t torn between just any lovers but a vampire and werewolf! Could things get any more complicated?

Bella swan, the object of most women’s envy, has been brilliantly portrayed by Kristen Stewart. While she has caught massive media attention for her role, Kristen has also been a topic of interest for her budding love life and her rule-defying fashion sense.

The self-confessed tomboy has provoked criticism from the fashion police and earned the praise of the avant-garde for pairing couture dresses with sneakers. It was inevitable though that along with her rise to fame, she has traded her trusty Chucks and succumbed to the charm of designer shoes. Here’s a round-up of her winning fashion moments, with her choice of footwear as the major point for judging.

Vibe by Jimmy Choo

If she’s not wearing Chucks on the red carpet, Kristen is often seen in a formulaic outfit which consists of a mini dress and pumps. For the London premiere night of Breaking Dawn - Part I, she made an exception and came in a Roberto Cavalli floor-length gown and Jimmy Choo heels. The 21-year-old actress sure showed that gothic is glamorous. But she could only take so much of that glamour and soon after, ditched her heels for a pair of black Nike trainers while hobnobbing with her fans. The Los Angeles premiere also saw the same stunt for the same pair of heels.

The ill-fated shoes in topic here is the Jimmy Choo Vibe peep-toe pumps. Made of glossy patent leather, the shoes have impossible sky-high heels that measure 5.8 inches!  It turns out Kristen’s upfront footwear change was pretty much justified.

Big Lips by Christian Louboutin

Wool, suede and metal are the major elements of Kristen’s ensemble for the Los Angeles premiere of Eclipse. Her one-sleeve embroidered wool dress with a sexy cut-out detail at the back was definitely a stunner and her light-gray suede pumps suited the texture of the dress perfectly.  The Big Lips boast of a metal stiletto heel which measures 5 inches in height.

Bianca by Christian Louboutin

Kristen was again seen in another pair of red-soled heels and this time, it’s the Christian Louboutin Bianca platform pumps. During the New York screening of Eclipse, her new Auburn-colored locks glowed against an otherwise dark ensemble. She opted for the plum edition of the 5.5-inch heels rather than her usual black footwear.

Vita by Jimmy Choo

At the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, Kristen’s penchant for black shoes is more than evident as she appeared at the Nokia Theatre L.A. in a gold mini dress and black Jimmy Choo Vita slingback peep-toe heels. She pulled off an Edward Cullen as she sparkled in her metallic dress and dazzled on the stage to claim her award for Favorite Movie Actress.

Pigalle by Christian Louboutin

Kristen arrived at the Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheatre for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in (gulp) safety pins! Her heavily studded red dress was by Balmain who was seemingly becoming the actress’ run-to designer. To complete the look, she put on red-soled Pigalle pumps by, of course, Louboutin. Appaprently, these classic heels are staple items not only in a chic woman’s closet but in a tomboy’s as well. Albeit her simple outfit, she outshined femmes that night by winning Best Female Performance for Eclipse.

Suede Peep-toe Pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti

The annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards recognizes the powerful women in various industries such as film, fashion, music and entertainment; hence, it’s not a surprise that Kristen Stewart got an invitation. She attended the event in a Balmain tube dress and grey Giuseppe Zanotti suede peep-toe pumps. Thank goodness she didn’t insist on wearing black pumps.

Spectator T-Strap Pumps by Chanel

Who would’ve thought a Chuck Taylor girl would have quite an affinity for Chanel? Kristen has been seen wearing these leather T-strap pumps in several occasions, either with a dress at a red carpet event or with jeans at a casual affair. The Chanel spectator pumps feature patent leather on the toe cap and the rear end. It must be its tolerable heel height which made this pair one of her favorites.

Zhora by Christian Louboutin

Kristen took a reprieve from the Twilight hullabaloo and made guest appearances to promote her other films that didn’t involve sparkling vampires. In a TV guesting for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the young actress wore a chic casual outfit of blazer, tank top, black leggings and pumps. The Zhora is an interesting piece which features transparent PVC and patent leather trim. It was also the same pair she wore for a cover shoot for Elle Magazine.

Satin Peep-Toe Pumps by Guiseppe Zanotti

As part of her promo tour of her non-Twilight film titled ‘Welcome to the Rileys’, Kristen contrasted her plaid mini dress with fiery red peep-toe pumps. These satin shoes provide just a bit of a height boost with 4 ¼ inch heels.

Elisa by Christian Louboutin

Perhaps the legion of followers and global admiration this actress has gained can be attributed to her effortlessness; she shines without even trying hard. For instance, she appeared in the Today show in a light cut-out tank dress and finished off her simple ensemble with nude stiletto pumps by Christian Louboutin. Even with low key make-up and no accessory at all, Kristen still looked absolutely gorgeous on the streets of New York that morning.
