The Emmy Awards 2011: The Stars in Heels

Mid-September saw the parade of Hollywood’s brightest during the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Being the equivalent of the Academy Awards in the field of television, the event holds the same prestige and as such, stars take time to suit up for this magnanimous occasion.

While most of the dazzling designer shoes that night weren’t given their much-deserved exposure because of long trail gowns, there are those who shone on the red carpet and here we round up a few.

Lea Michele in Manolo Blahnik

Among the ladies in red that night, Lea Michele was the scarlet princess in a cowl back gown. She wore minimal jewelry (only a cocktail ring at that) but with a pair of Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps on her toes, there was practically no need for any other accessory.

These satin pumps come in a variety of colors besides red such as white, black and blue. Centering on a theme of simple elegance, the Hangisi features a square rhinestone ornament at the vamp and 4-inch heels.

Kerry Washington in Jimmy Choo

If Lea Michele was the scarlet princess, Kerry Washington would be the scarlet queen as she wowed everyone in her fire red ensemble. It can be said that the star of the upcoming television series Scandal almost camouflaged with the red carpet where she pranced in Jimmy Choo Vibe peep-toe pumps.

Made of classic patent leather, this pair is one of Jimmy Choo’s wide collections of simple but elegant shoes that can go from casual to evening wear. Its 5.8 inch heels, however, would make you think twice about using it for daily wear.

Sarah Hyland in Guiseppe Zanotti

Most red carpet events lately would reveal that platform pumps are “in” among the young ones. Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland validates that as she attends the Emmy’s in silver Guiseppe Zanotti satin platform pumps which gave her height an instant boost.

With 5.5 inch heels and 1.5 inch platforms, the 20-year old actress certainly stood tall like a full-grown woman. The peep toes come with a slim buckle strap at the ankle for a snug fit.

Heidi Klum in Christian Louboutin

Without fail, Louboutin’s Pigalle is a staple in parties both simple and grand which indicates just how versatile this piece is. During this particular occasion, the Pigalle pumps in Croco edition were flaunted by supermodel Heidi Klum.

The Project Runway host wore an asymmetrical pale colored tulle dress that showed off her slender legs and most especially the Louboutin’s iconic pumps. Its pointed toes make this pair sleek and sultry. As the name suggests, this edition showcases crocodile skin leather for a texturized and opulent touch.

Christina Hendricks in Christian Louboutin

With milky white skin against a metallic gown, Christina Hendricks’ red head seemed on fire. The curvaceous Mad Men secretary arrived at the Emmy’s literally sparkling. She wore a jewel-encrusted gown which she perfectly paired with Tres Ophrah sandals from Christial Louboutins Fall-Winter 2011 collection. These d’Orsay peep-toe sandals are covered in fine satin and add a bit of height with 3.5 inch heels.
