The VH1 Do Something Awards: The Fashion Do-ers
To celebrate another year of exceptional collaboration between VH1 and DoSomething.org, the VH1 Do Something Awards was held recently at the posh Hollywood Palladium theater in California. Being the prime mover in social volunteerism, the organization has found the perfect partner in VH1 to promote their cause. And to acknowledge the contributions of notable young individuals who advocate change, community grants amounting to $10,000 were given to the five nominees while the winner takes home $100,000.
The golden hearts of these nominees couldn’t shine any brighter that night. Meanwhile, Hollywood’s brightest also dazzled on the blue carpet at Sunset Boulevard as they walked tall in their lovely designer shoes and stilettos.
Sophia Bush in Jimmy Choo
Her character portrayal of Brooke in One Tree Hill certainly made her a significant fixture in Hollywood. And she continues to give justice to her stardom by her fashion sagacity. She paired her long strapless blue dress with a pair of nude Jimmy Choo Vamp platform sandals. The shoes feature crisscrossing straps of glossy patent leather over the toes and the ankle. With a 4¾-inch heel and a 1-inch platform gives all the height one would need.
Olivia Wilde in Jimmy Choo
Another lady who shared a penchant for Jimmy Choo pairs is Olivia Wilde. The Cowboys & Aliens’ actress looked ethereal in a pleated drapey gown that reminds you of ancient Greece. And just when you thought she’d pair it with a pair of gladiator sandals, she surprisingly walked in grey peep-toe shoes. The Crown pumps are made of patent material and stand under a sky-high 5.25-inch heel and a 1.25-inch platform.
Kerry Washington in Jimmy Choo
Who could ever resist the sultry and romantic appeal of lace? Kerry Washington surely succumbed to the power of this timeless fabric and arrived in a lace and silk ensemble. Her one-shoulder dress was complemented well with a pair of Jimmy Choo Nexus ankle boots. This interesting pair from the Resort 2011 collection is a brilliant mixture of elaphe snakeskin, black lace, embroidery and suede. Despite the explosion of various textures, the blend is seamless, owing to Jimmy Choo’s undeniable genius.
Brittany Snow in Guiseppe Zanotti
While many adored her silver animal print dress, it was her Guiseppe Zanotti bronze pumps which made headlines. Straight from the Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection, the suede pumps are reminiscent of the 1980’s as it features a slim ankle strap and a concealed ¾-inch platform. The pencil-thin, 4 1/4 inch-heel itself is quite a stunning facet. But what converts this shoe from beautiful to spectacular are the 3 silver spikes vertically lined at the back. This detail is custom-made especially for the 25 year-old star. (Yes, she’s THAT lucky.) These pumps also come in purple or rust colors.
Victoria Justice in Giuseppe Zanotti
When she sashayed along the blue carpet, one can’t help but feel how unfair it is that an 18 year old can be this gorgeous and sexy. Victoria was stunning in her red mini-dress but the accent of her overall look was her leopard print peep toe pumps. The soft dyed calf hair material covers the entire outer surface, including the 5-inch heel. Moreover, these pumps are designed with a hidden platform and a black buckled ankle strap. Donning the pair definitely made the singer-actress victorious in the fashion arena that night.
Amy Poehler in Stuart Weitzman
One of Hollywood’s unforgettable comediennes undoubtedly cheered the guests with her sunny gown. To contrast the brightness of her dress, she kept everything else simple and finished off with a pair of nude patent Stuart Weitzman Platswoon pumps with a heel height of approximately 4 inches and only half an inch of platform.
