Top 3 Summer Shoe Trends Of 2010

Men may be able to buy just one pair of shoes to last them a whole year but when it comes to women, we have to buy at least one of every popular trend every season. With the Fall/Winter season in full swing and 2010 nearing its end, I think its a great idea to look back at the past seasons trends and if we managed to stay in style.

Just like this past Spring, wedges were also a popular trend this summer. Its really a no-brainer. Wedges are perfect to wear with shorts, skirts and dresses. What's great about these shoes is that you can wear them with casual outfits or a more elegant dress. Steve Maddens Feaver is a favorite of mine with its simple and classic look that can easily be paired with any outfit.

Another shoe trend that was dominant this past Summer were gladiators. However, they weren't the usual gladiators as they have been updated with new styles, embellishments, woven leather and hooded ankles. My favorite gladiators weren't a specific pair for shoes but a collection from designer Anna Sui. The vibrant colors and butterfly cut outs are definitely sassy.

Nude was also the color of Summer 2010. The color was featured on a variety of styles including pumps, boots and sandals. My favorite of the season had to be the Christian Dior Bow sling back espadrilles. Its a 2 for 1 design with the nude color and the wedge style.

There were other noteworthy trends this past summer but I believe that these 3 stood out in the crowd. Did you have these styles in your shoe closet?
