Jeanne Lanvin (Paris, 1867–1946) founded Lanvin Shoes in the year 1889. Marguerite (later named Marie-Blanche de Polignac), is the only child of Jeanne Lanvin, succeeded Jeanne Lanvin in 1946 and she was in charge of Lavin until the death her mother in 1958. Lanvin is one of the oldest French fashion houses.
